Back to Shul

Summer is sadly coming to an end. The IJC Board would like to welcome back its members from what we hope was a refreshing break. During the summer we have been preparing the restart of services and activities. The Hebrew School will be the first to relaunch in-person gatherings in the Synagogue, beginning on Saturday, September 5th.

The first in-person Shacharit service will take place the following Saturday, September 12. Since we are still tackling the coronavirus, there is a special safety protocol that must be respected for all IJC gatherings. In parallel with in-person services, we will continue to offer online gatherings. More information will be provided as we get closer to our re-opening.

Online High Holiday Services

Due to the ongoing uncertainties of gathering in large groups, the Board has decided to hold all High Holiday services on-line. The IJC Zoom platform will be complemented by a YouTube streaming channel so that the services are as accessible as possible. We will do our very best to create the feeling of togetherness that is so special to IJC.  If someone needs help with setting up these platforms on their computer, please let us know and we will assist you. We want every member to be able to connect to our services.

Renew Your Membership

For those who have not yet renewed their membership, this is a good time to do so as participating in High Holiday services and the special Spiritual Preparation classes given by Ilana Sumka are included in your 5781 membership fee. To be able to connect to these and other online events your membership needs to be in good financial standing. Membership fee information can be found here. Please note that no one is ever turned away from IJC for financial reasons.  Please contact our treasurer at treasurer@ijc.be to request additional information.

Please Submit Names for IJC Yizkor List

The IJC is resetting its Yizkor List

Please send your personal list of names to info@ijc.be with Yizkor in the subject line. The deadline to be included on the list for Yom Kippur 5781 is the end of August 2020. The names will be registered under the name and email address of the sender.

The IJC is a genuinely inclusive community and the RAC is aware that many of our members have deceased non-Jewish relatives and friends. All names are welcome, without restrictions.
