Hebrew School Registration 2019-2020 (5780)

Dear IJC Families, Friends and Parents of prospective Hebrew School students,
The IJC Hebrew School invites you to register your child(ren) for the 2019-2020 (5780) school year. We have exciting and engaging programs for children up to their bat/bar-mitzvah  (12-13 year olds). Our dynamic teaching staff are looking forward to learning with your child(ren).

The IJC is Belgium’s only English speaking Progressive Jewish community. The Hebrew School is a place where our children learn about their Judaism, as well as Jewish culture and values in a comfortable, welcoming and appealing environment. Classes are from 10:00am to 12:30pm twice a month on Saturdays during the academic year.

In groups based on age and knowledge, students encounter Hebrew, prayer, religious traditions, and the modern Jewish experience. There is an emphasis on creative expression through crafts and song, especially for the younger children. Each Hebrew School session includes two one-hour class periods, a whole school activity, and a short break/snack.  Our students and teachers are multi-lingual and open to children who have limited English. Please visit the Hebrew School page of our website for more information.

Our Hebrew School parents are also engaged members of the community: participating in community events, holiday celebrations, joining their children in services and there are periodic parent education sessions so you can keep up with your children.

The HS calendar, which can be found on our website, is developed keeping in mind Belgian and international school holidays. For more information about school fees click here. As members of the community, Hebrew School families are asked to make their fair share contributions to the operations of the IJC.

The IJC Hebrew School team looks forward to seeing you at 10:00am on Sunday, September 7, 2019 for the opening Hebrew School session!
